CHRIST COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY Library with a total area of 5,000 square feet, a part of which is air conditioned. After obtaining COLLEGES status, with its expansion in all fields viz. increase in the number of students and faculty as well as increase in disciplines, a need was felt for complete computerization of library activities. In pursuit of this goal new Windows based software running in Visual Basic .NET with an SQL Database was installed. Simultaneously we upgraded the hardware to the latest Pentium IV computers installed on a network. Circulation was computerized and bar coding system was introduced to speed up library transactions. Accordingly, all faculty and students were issued bar-coded membership cards for access to the library. We have also acquired the latest state of art We have increased the number of journals subscribed to 156 journals of which journals. At present we have total of 44848 books in our COLLEGE library. A new section on self improvement has been opened in the library for an all round development of students. The library has also added books on self-confidence, business strategies and Psychologists. We also have a MBA. Library. Our Library will continue to augment its resources and modernize with latest techniques in the future. Our modernize library has a Pentium LAN server with 4 nos of AT486DX4 nodes by which issues and returns are done. Students and staff members can search for the books , on the Author , Title or Subject heading and their availability using the software NewGenLib. Also we have subscribed to DELNET (Developing Library Network), through which we can access the library in and around our college campus.

A number computer servers and workstations are installed in the Our college Library for Modernizing and Automation of the Library operations and Services. The Library resources materials have been computerized by using CHRISTLIB software. The CHRISTLIB software is an integrated Library Management Software used for library automation. Bar-coding of Membership Identity Cards The Faculty, Non-Teaching Staff, and Students of the Christ college are issued a single bar coded Membership cum Library Identity card.
The users of the library can use the same Identity card for borrowing books.
On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Service
The computerized bibliographic details of the books, theses, reports, U.N. documents, etc. are available in the library through the OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) service. Ten computer systems are provided to the users of the library for this service. The users can search the databases in different ways, viz :

Words within title Any other Keywords using Boolean Operators In addition to that, the availability of journals issues and bound volumes are also obtained using E-Resources (On-line) Access & Internet Service E-Resources are the result of rapid development of Internet facility in the Libraries. It is most useful to the students users of the library.. Access to e-resources (e-Books e-Databases and e-Journals) is available through DELNET subscription/purchase. Users could access more than Our College is wi-fi enabled campus with 128 MBPS and 150 MBPS internet connectivity. The library is providing full time browsing facility/internet connectivity for the students and other users. More than fifty computer systems are provided to the users of the library to access the above facilities. All the on-line resources are available on the Intranet.
The users should enter their membership number, name and the entry time in the gate register kept at the security counter while they enter inside the library. Similarly; when they leave the library the leaving time should be entered in the gate register.
Silence must be observed inside the library and loud talking is prohibited in all parts of the library. As the library is the place of individual study, members should conduct themselves to maintain an atmosphere conducive to this. Use of mobile phone inside the library is not permitted. Photography/ inside the library is prohibited normally,
